Our Blessed Hope

This weekend, we celebrate Easter, representing the greatest victory of human history. A little over 2,000 years ago in a distant land, an innocent young man of humility was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. This was the beginning of a series of events that would forever change history for the whole world.

The one and only Jesus of Nazareth, savior of the world, was crucified without cause, died, buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. Many may wish to dispute whether or not this took place but no one can deny that the whole of humanity has been impacted by the Easter story. Our culture and even our calendar reflect His impact.

While there is clearly a global economic war underway, and a clash of civilizations (as we often discuss), we retain the faith and hope that Jesus will keep His promise and come again. So much of what we see taking place in the world today reflects what we would expect based on long-ago prophecy of His return in the end times. The only true victory can come in knowing Him.

This Easter weekend, we celebrate the power of His resurrection and the blessed hope of His return. The good news is that He sent His Spirit to be our comforter and the source of our strength even in dark times.

Romans 8: 11-14 (KJV):

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

May you enjoy a Blessed Easter!
