“However, by using the combination method, a completely different scenario and game can occur: if the attacking side secretly (or quietly) musters large amounts of capital without the enemy nation being aware of this at all and launches a sneak attack against its financial markets, then after causing a financial crisis, buries a computer virus and hacker detachment in the opponent’s computer system in advance, while at the same time carrying out a network attack against the enemy so that the civilian electricity network, traffic dispatching network, financial transaction network, telephone communications network, and mass media network are completely paralyzed, this will cause the enemy nation to fall into social panic, street riots, and a political crisis.”
That quote, taken from the 1999 Chinese Military Book, Unrestricted Warfare, defines a strategy for defeating an enemy nation. When it was written, the United States of America was the unquestioned sole superpower with a roaring economy and a military capable of winning a three-front war. Of course, that was pre-9/11 and when we had a balanced Federal budget. But by deploying these tactics, it was proposed that an inferior army might defeat a superior one using such unconventional means.
In late 2008 and early 2009, I carried the Chinese quote into briefings in the Pentagon (and to most three-letter agencies in DC) to emphasize that we were already in a global economic war and were not winning. The first shots had been fired. We were watching a sneak attack on our financial markets unfold. My colleagues and I warned that we had to prepare for on oncoming cyber war. We warned that our civilian electricity grid would come under attack. We warned that all of our infrastructure was vulnerable. And, we warned that the end game was social panic, street riots, and a political crisis. That was how America could be broken.
We knew that the Chinese blueprint for financial warfare was based on none other than George Soros as explained in Unrestricted Warfare:
“Moreover, when people revise the history books on twentieth-century warfare in the early 21st century, the section on financial warfare will command the reader’s utmost attention. The main protagonist in this section of the history book will not be a statesman or a military strategist; rather, it will be George Soros.”
The Chinese compared George Soros to a financial terrorist but seemed all too willing to follow his strategy and tactics. Of course Soros is famous for predicting street riots in America:
George Soros on the Coming U.S. Class War
Occupy Wall Street “is an inchoate, leaderless manifestation of protest,” but it will grow. It has “put on the agenda issues that the institutional left has failed to put on the agenda for a quarter of a century.”
As anger rises, riots on the streets of American cities are inevitable. “Yes, yes, yes,” he says, almost gleefully.
When we introduced this construct at the Pentagon nearly a decade ago, however, we were met with extreme skepticism. We were told that American society was far too stable for riots of this kind. Communism was beaten, they told us. There were doubts that anyone could pull off such a financial or network attack. Who would threaten us when our military was so strong? What they failed to recognize is that the rest of the world had read the Chinese book and many were adopting its doctrines.
By 2017, it has become pretty obvious. We have proof that our financial markets were attacked in 2008 and have been subject to multiple attacks and infiltration since then. North Korea has no problem threatening us and the Iranians are still shouting “Death to America.” Our nation has experienced multiple hackings of all types and our electric grid has likewise been attacked both using traditional and cyber means. And, of course, a nuclearized North Korea (and/or Iran) could clearly launch an EMP capable of taking out our power grid. All of this is setting up for the end game.
Over the weekend, the spectacle of societal destruction came on full display with a great deal of media coverage and politicians cowering to the narrative. The narrative became so strong as to drown out some otherwise good news. And, the narrative was designed to create clear social unrest, dividing America and trapping the President.
What actually happened in Charlottesville is a clash between two militant ideologies. The nazis (and any form of white supremacists) were there and should be denounced. Their violence and bigotry is unacceptable to a free society and should be rejected completely. But there were other hateful groups there also, some of which would likewise reject our Constitutional Republic, preferring Communism or other radical leftist ideologies. The media doesn’t want to discuss that and frankly has attacked anyone who dare suggest it. The media knows full well who these “alt-left” groups are but feigns ignorance.
In short, we had a serious conflict between nazis and communists (and unfortunately a few others that were caught in the crossfire). In addition, Internet sleuths have uncovered that a Nazi Unite the Right leader was active as a pro-Obama Occupy Wall Street leader just a few years ago. Can this be true? If so, what does it suggest? In reality, the difference between National Socialists (Nazis) and Communists is not that great, at least in the leadership–both are evil. They are defined as fascists and anti-fascists but in many ways they are similar in their desire to tear down the American way. Yet only one side is denounced. While The Washington Post offers a feigned defense of antifa as mostly non-violent, they do admit:
But what is antifa? Where did it come from? Militant anti-fascist or “antifa” (pronounced antifa) is a radical pan-leftist politics of social revolution applied to fighting the far right. Its adherents are predominantly communists, socialists and anarchists who reject turning to the police or the state to halt the advance of white supremacy. Instead they advocate popular opposition to fascism as we witnessed in Charlottesville.
Though antifa are often treated as a new force in American politics since the rise of Trump, the anti-fascist tradition stretches back a century. The first antifascists fought Benito Mussolini’s Blackshirts in the Italian countryside, exchanged fire with Adolf Hitler’s Brownshirts in the taverns and alleyways of Munich and defended Madrid from Francisco Franco’s insurgent nationalist army. Beyond Europe, anti-fascism became a model of resistance for the Chinese against Japanese imperialism during World War II and resistance to Latin American dictatorships.
Antifa is not a red, white, and blue crowd of traditional patriotic Americans. They are mostly anti-capitalist, communists, socialists, and anarchists. Sure they oppose the racism of white supremacists and this might be laudable, but does the leadership really have pure motives? They are actually planning to provide a violent response. Sadly, some members of this group have been duped into their positions without a real understanding of the ultimate objectives.
Let me be clear. The political solution to racism is the Constitution. It’s never been perfect but a Civil War was fought and a Civil Rights movement begun to protect the rights of various minorities. Those victories are now freedoms enshrined in the Constitution. [The ultimate solution is love and changed hearts through Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit, by the way.]
The solution to race problems is NOT the denial of personal freedoms via some socialist utopia as antifa might suggest. That has been tried and has failed EVERY time. People always get hurt, with Venezuela the most recent example. In fact tens and maybe hundreds of millions of people have been killed by communists in search of their failed version of equality. And, simply tearing down monuments will not heal the racial divide. Maybe some monuments should be removed but we cannot heal by hiding from the past. A predominantly black group in Dallas understands this even while strongly opposing any form of racism.
On the other side, the solution to income inequality is not racial hatred, blaming one group for the ills of society like the nazis, fascists, and supremacists do. The solution is a fair and free economy without crony capitalism, again something the Constitution should provide. It’s hard to imagine that good people could be swept up into nazism these days as we should all remember how truly destructive that form of fascism really is.
To true anarchists, however, the reason for the clash isn’t really all that important. If you want social panic, street riots, and a political crisis, you just need a clash between nazis and commies. And that is the goal.
It should have been a good weekend for President Trump. After all, he had North Korea essentially backing down from the threat of destroying Guam, Hawaii, or the Continental United States. China made it clear that they would not protect North Korea if they launched a first strike.
And, there’s some really good news on our economy:
- U.S. retail sales soared in July to a 7-month high.
- Unemployment is at a 16-year low.
- More than a million jobs have been added to the economy.
- June saw 6 million job openings in the U.S., one of the highest levels recorded.
- Already in 2017, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has had 34 record highs.
- The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort measure reached a 16-year high, with current views of the economy also reaching a 16-year high.
- Small business optimism rose in July, led by significant gains in hiring activity, according to the National Federation of Independent Business monthly index of small business optimism.
- The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index rose in July to near a 16 year high, with consumers short-term outlook improving.
- The National Association of Manufacturers’ Outlook Survey showed the highest two-quarter average, of 91.4 percent, for manufacturing optimism in the survey’s 20-year history.
- The Institute for Supply Management reported that its June barometer of manufacturing rose to 57.8, surpassing estimates for a gain to 55.3, growing at its fastest pace in three years.
- According to June’s CNBC All-America Economic Survey, 54 percent of Americans think their home prices will rise in the next year.
- The American Action Forum estimates President Trump has begun action to remove over $60 billion in regulatory costs by rolling back Obama administration rules.
- In June, U.S. exports reached $194.4 billion, the highest level in 2.5 years.
- U.S. shale oil production has soared to record outputs since President Trump’s election on a combination of stronger consumer demand and a belief among producers of a much friendlier pro-U.S. energy stance from the administration.
In addition, we have news trickling out that the forensic evidence now shows that the DNC was not hacked by the Russians after all (it was most likely an inside job leaked to expose illicit activity). This takes away one of the main “crimes” that would suggest the possibility of collusion with the Russians to alter the election. Next, we have evidence that the Obama team knew of electoral intrusions (which clearly were attempted) much earlier and did not even inform the states. Finally, we have email evidence that the senior leadership in the Trump campaign was not all that interested in connecting let alone colluding with Putin. The Don Trump, Jr. meeting looks more and more like a botched setup likely perpetrated by the same group that produced the fake dossier. It’s pretty clear-cut and the media has known this for months. That whole narrative is collapsing.
So now the media needs something new to hang on the President and his reaction to the Charlottesville tragedy seemed perfect. It gave ample opportunity for professional politicians, the deep state, and the media to make Donald Trump look really bad and overshadow any good news. And it worked like a charm.
So, what did the President actually do for which he is being so roundly attacked? Well he initially denounced the violence. That’s good, but did he mean it enough? Was he sufficiently angry? Did he call out the groups specifically? So, a day later he came out and denounced specific groups. This time, however, he did it in typical Trump style and shamed reporters for not calling out both sides, pointing out that antifa demonstrated without a permit and carried clubs. He then went on to say that there were innocents on both sides (and guilty on both sides). He was deemed to be “too little, too late.” And worse, how dare he blame both sides or says that there were innocents at all among the nazis? The media called his press conference “disgraceful.” Read the transcript and decide for yourself.
What is really scary about all of this is that the events we are watching seem to be following a very clear playbook to destroy a nation. We’ve seen other countries go down this road and it never ends well. In fact, it is precisely how either the nazi fascists or communist anarchists gain power. We thought it impossible here but we have strayed so far from the Constitution and our ideals that it seems possible today. We have seen people jailed for their conscience and desire to exercise their religious freedoms. Society has turned darker and we must do something or watch all our freedoms slip away. Sadly, a life was taken on Saturday with many other injured. Hate took its victims. That was a tragedy but should not be used as an excuse to tear apart our nation. Why was this the whole story when others tragically died elsewhere (including Chicago)? It is all about the narrative.
Recently, there was a leak of a memo prepared by Rich Higgins, Director for Strategic Planning at the National Security Council. The memo got him fired. What was in it, however, rings with impressive truth. As a matter of full disclosure, I knew Rich well when he had a position in the Pentagon. We worked together on my first Economic Warfare report. He has a real grasp on the war we’ve been fighting for years.
You should read the memo, POTUS and Political Warfare, in full. I’m excerpting just a small portion as it ties directly to the Unrestricted Warfare blueprint as well as what we are seeing in the news cycle today:
BACKGROUND. The Trump administration is suffering under withering information campaigns designed to first undermine, then delegitimize and ultimately remove the President. Possibly confusing these attacks with an elevated interplay of otherwise normal D.C. partisan infighting and adversarial media relations, the White House response to these campaigns reflects a political advocacy mindset that it is intensely reactive, severely under-inclusive and dangerously inadequate to the threat. If action is not taken to re-scope and respond to these hostile campaigns very soon, the administration risks implosion and subsequent early departure from the White House.
This is not politics as usual but rather political warfare at an unprecedented level that is openly engaged in the direct targeting of a seated president through manipulation of the news cycle. It must be recognized on its own terms so that immediate action can be taken. At its core, these campaigns run on multiple lines of effort, serve as the non-violent line of effort of a wider movement, and execute political warfare agendas that reflect cultural Marxist outcomes. The campaigns operate through narratives.
Because the hard left is aligned with Islamist organizations at local (ANTIFA working with Muslim Brotherhood doing business as MSA and CAIR), national (ACLU and BLM working with CAIR and MPAC) and international levels (OIC working with OSCE and the UN), recognition must be given to the fact that they seamlessly interoperate at the narrative level as well. In candidate Trump, the opposition saw a threat to the “politically correct” enforcement narratives they’ve meticulously laid in over the past few decades. In President Trump, they see a latent threat to continue that effort to ruinous effect and their retaliatory response reflects this fear.
Higgins clearly identified antifa working with the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR. He also explained how establishment Republicans would join in as needed to unseat President Trump. Here are some really important excerpts. REMEMBER, this was written BEFORE Charlottesville:
That post-modern (diversity/multiculturalism) narratives seeks to implement cultural Marxist objectives can be demonstrated by reference to founding Frankfurt School theorist Herbert Marcuse’s repurposing of the term tolerance. In a 1965 paper, Marcuse defined tolerance as intolerance; said it can be implemented through undemocratic means to stop chauvinism (xenophobia), racism, discrimination; and should be extended to the left while denied to the right:
“Surely, no government can be expected to foster its own subversion, but in a democracy such a right is vested in the people (i.e. in the majority of the people). This means that the ways should not be blocked on which a subversive majority could develop, and if they are blocked by organized repression and indoctrination, their reopening may require apparently undemocratic means. They would include the withdrawal of toleration of speech and assembly from groups and movements which promote aggressive policies, armament, chauvinism, discrimination on the grounds of race and religion, or which oppose the extension of public services, social security, medical care, etc.” (8–9) “Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.” (12)
In this framework, the protestors on the “alt right” can be properly denounced. But the “alt left” must be tolerated? That is exactly what happened this past weekend.
Interestingly, just as Higgins’s memo predicted, CAIR (claiming to represent American Muslims) sided with antifa. Historically, this would seem strange as the Muslim Brotherhood supported Hitler and nazIsm. But for the modern purpose, the Muslim Brotherhood is actually allied with the Marxists. This unholy alliance has been termed the “Red/Green Axis.” It is hell-bent on destroying traditional America and fully deploying the Unrestricted Warfare/Total War strategy. How else can you explain extreme leftists defending radical Islam? Or that attacks on honest atheists who point out Islam’s issues?
Sadly, the “deep state” is either so infiltrated by the Red/Green Axis or so threatened by an outsider like Donald Trump that they have joined the narrative, intent on toppling the President. This includes a squeamish Republican establishment willing to pile on rather than buck the media narrative. This, too, was predicted by Higgins:
More afraid of being accused of being called a racist, sexist, homophobe or Islamophobe than of failing to enforce their oaths to “support and defend the Constitution,” the Republican Establishment accepts and enforces cultural Marxist memes within its own sphere of operations. In doing so, knowingly or not, it becomes an agent of that. These “conservatives” become increasingly indistinguishable from their democratic counter-parts save that they misrepresent themselves to their constituents. Lacking the discernment to recognize their situation, they will work with globalists, corporatists, and the international financial interests and will likewise service the deep state. These establishment Republicans are the hard left’s designated defeat mechanism in the destruction of the old regime as well as the American ideal.
And, of course, there is a complicit media:
These attack narratives are pervasive, full spectrum and institutionalized at all levels. They operate in social media, television, the 24-hour news cycle in all media, and are entrenched at the upper levels of the bureaucracies and within the foreign policy establishment. They inform the entertainment industry from late night monologues, to situation comedies, to television series memes, to movie themes. The effort required to direct this capacity at President Trump is little more than a programming decision to do so. The cultural Marxist narrative is fully deployed, pervasive, full spectrum and ongoing. Regarding the president, attacks have become a relentless 24/7 effort.
The most frightening part of all of this is that it appears we are approaching the end game. While many conservatives cheered the election of Donald Trump, those on the far left saw it as an opportunity to ramp up attacks to such a degree as to end America as we know it. While the far left enjoyed tremendous gains during the Obama years they lacked the full authority to overthrow American traditions. They now see the potential for a total destabilization of America. Perhaps that is why Soros-linked groups have amped up their activities here?
Let’s be clear. All of this is a risk to your financial and personal well being. More importantly, it is a risk to the fabric of our great nation.
BOTTOM LINE: We are perilously close to the narrative plunging America into social panic, street riots and a political crisis that intends to demoralize and destroy the American experiment. It is absolutely essential that we renounce the hate and return to truth. The truth will set us free. As I’ve said before, we, the decent America-loving citizens (who want opportunity for our children, prosperity, justice and liberty for all) must cry out to God in repentance and ask Him to heal our nation.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)
This is what we should be doing in response to Charlottesville. Reject the hate and cry out to God for His mercy.
